February 5, 2012

Dear family,
Hi, I miss you all so much.  I appreciate you writing to me.  It means a lot.  These first few days have been really hard.  So much home sickness but each day seems to get better.  I'm starting to get to know my District.  There are 4 of us sharing a dorm and we're all going to MJM (Mississippi Jackson Mission).  My companions name is Elder Marcum.  He's from Kaysville.  We all get along just fine.  It's still kind of weird to call everyone Elder.
My days are crazy busy.  I get up around 6 am, go to class for personal study time or daily planning session.  Go to breakfast for about 30 minutes.  Then head to class for the next 3 hours where towards the end of class our instructor will pretend to be an investigator and we practice on him (this coming Monday we will work with REAL investigators - scary).  We then have about a 40 minute lunch.  Then we go to the Gym for 50 minutes, another personal study time for about an hour, then Zone teaching where I pretend to be an investigator.  After that dinner for an hour, then another 3 hour classroom instruction. Then back to the dorm to get ready for bed.  We have a little personal time before bed to write in our journals and write letters.  It changes up a bit each day but we do all those things.
My P-Day is on Tuesday's.  We do laundry, email,  go to the temple and have some personal time.  Sunday's are a lot more relaxed.  We all have to write a talk and be prepared to give it if called upon.  We got to watch a Joseph Smith movie today for a Sunday activity.
There are a lot of food options.  It's really nice.  Pretty good food but way too much.  It's crazy how much food they have, they rarely run out of anything.  We get to go to the gym everyday except for P-Days and Sunday's.

                        Love ya
